The 4-star campsite that we use is perfectly situated on the bank of Ardeche River with direct access to the water. The location really couldn’t be better.

The pretty village of Salavas is just a few minutes walk in one direction, while the bustling town of Vallon Pont d’Arc is a short stroll across the bridge in the other direction. This is the perfect location for exploring the breathtaking Gorges de l’Ardèche with the famous Pont d’Arc (the largest natural Arch in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site) located just 6km up river.

This is a relaxed, family friendly, locally owned and independently run campsite, providing camping accommodation with excellent facilities and the perfect riverside location. You won’t want to leave!

There are 130 pitches, all well spaced out and separated by green hedges so that you have plenty of privacy. Each pitch has a shaded area (which you’ll be particularly thankful for in the summer months when temperatures can rocket into the 30s!) as well as access to water points and electricity (an extension cord may be necessary).

There is a restaurant, bar, heated swimming pool and small shop where you can get a fresh baguette each morning. The restaurant and bar open at lunchtimes and evenings and offer a range of local cuisines. Whilst it’s not possible to have BBQs on the campsite pitches, there is a large BBQ area available for guests, together with tables and seating.

The toilet and bathroom facilities have recently been refurbished and are equipped with individual shower cubicles, sinks and child cubicles (which include a toilet, shower and sink). There is also a laundry room and washing machines.

The campsite has a large games area where you can kick a ball about, play volleyball or, if you fancy something more, well, French, have a game of boule. One final note about the swimming pool: here in France no beach shorts are allowed in public pools, so please make sure you bring “speedo” style swimming trunks/shorts for use in the pool.
