HOLIDAY INFORMATION
The Gorge Getaway: CAMPING option includes the two-day GUIDED river trip with overnight camp through the spectacular Ardeche gorge. It also includes an additional 1-5 nights accommodation at our 4* CAMPSITE (see ‘The Campsite’ tab for details).
The river trip covers the full 32km of the Gorges de l’Ardeche from Vallon Pont d’Arc to Saint Martin d’Ardeche. It consists of two days of paddling with an overnight camp in the gorge (bivouac). This helps to divide the river trip into more equal and slightly less strenuous days (16km & 16km) and, therefore, gives us time to have lunch by the river, go for a swim, jump from rocks, explore hidden caves or just relax and enjoying your surroundings.
Camping equipment for the overnight bivouac camp (as part of the river trip) is included. You also have the option to include it for the duration of your stay.
Most guided river trips are on Mon/Tues and Thurs/Fri each week with a couple of Sat/Sun options in April. You can confirm availability and the days the river trip will run by looking at the Guided river trip option. If you require different dates for the river trip please use the link below to send us your bespoke request.

Your Itinerary
The itinerary for the Gorge Getaway: CAMPING option will vary depending on your dates selected and the number of nights you decide to stay.
If you select to arrive before the river trip (eg arrive on Wednesday with the river trip on Thurs/Fri) then you will go directly to the reception of the campsite where they will have your booking ready and will show you your pitch/es. A senior member of staff (usually the same person will also be your river guide) will meet you at the campsite to ensure you are happy with the arrangements and are ready for your river trip. If you only add nights at the campsite after the river trip then we will meet you directly at the river trip start location at 10:30am.
You can check in at the campsite anytime between 1pm and 8pm on your arrival day and will need to check out by 10:30am on the morning of your departure.
You have the option to include camping equipment hire for the duration of your stay if required.

The Campsite
The campsite we use is perfectly located on the bank of the Ardeche river. A brief stroll from the centre of the local town – Vallon Pont d’Arc, and 6km from the famous Pont d’Arc, the campsite is ideally situated for exploring the Gorges de l’Ardèche and the local area.
All pitches are shaded and separated by hedges. They also have access to water points and electricity (extension cord may be necessary).
The campsite has a restaurant/bar; heated swimming pool; small shop and a large games area. Whilst it’s not possible to have BBQ’s on the campsite pitches, there is a large BBQ area available for guests, together with tables and seating.
This is a relaxed, family friendly, locally owned and independently run campsite, providing excellent facilities and the perfect riverside location.

GORGE GETAWAY: CAMPING
The cost for this option will vary depending on the number of nights you want to stay. The price is the same as for the two-day guided river trip with overnight camp plus the cost for your selected accommodation which varies depending on the number of people sharing a pitch.

Camping equipment hire
Your camping equipment is included for the overnight bivouac (as part of the river trip). To include this for your additional nights at the campsite will cost £15 per person per night (based on 2 sharing).
