HOLIDAY INFORMATION
This River Package option includes the two-day GUIDED river trip through the spectacular Ardeche gorge and 7 nights accommodation at our 3* HOTEL with the option to include breakfast or room only. (see ‘The Hotel’ tab for more details).
The guided river trip covers the full 32km of the Gorges de l’Ardeche from Vallon Pont d’Arc to Saint Martin d’Ardeche. It consists of two days of paddling with an overnight camp in the gorge (bivouac). This helps to divide the river trip into more equal and slightly less strenuous days (16km & 16km) which also gives us time to have lunch by the river, go for a swim, jump from rocks, explore hidden caves or just relax and enjoying your surroundings.
Camping equipment for the overnight bivouac as part of the river trip is included.
With this option you also have the choice to include some additional activities with your booking to create a bespoke multi-activity week. (See ‘Extra Activities’ tab for details).
When you place your booking you will be asked your preference for the river trip (Mon/Tues or Thurs/Fri) and we will fulfil that request wherever possible.

Itinerary
With our River Packages you will go directly to your accommodation. On arrival at the hotel, go to the reception where they will have your booking ready and they will show you your room/s. A senior member of staff (usually the same person will also be your river guide) will meet you at your accommodation to ensure you are happy with the arrangements and are ready for your river trip.
You can check in at the hotel anytime between 3pm and 8pm and will need to check out by 10:30am on the morning of your departure. You can book your room only or include breakfast with your booking.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED
*The river trip covers the full 32km of the Gorges de l’Ardeche from Vallon Pont d’Arc to Saint Martin d’Ardeche. It consists of two days of paddling with an overnight camp in the gorge (bivouac) and includes 30 white-water rapids (grade 2).
The Hotel
The hotel is situated directly opposite the famous Pont d’Arc but set back just far enough (300m) to provide seclusion and tranquillity away from this popular tourist destination. There is also access for hotel residents onto the pebble beach directly opposite the hotel as well as the new swimming pool, refurbished rooms, and extended sun terrace.
There is a large car park next to the hotel for guests and it is recommended that you have some transport to best experience the whole area in your free time. However, local taxi’s are available. All rooms are en-suite with telephone and tv facilities. Internet access can also be achieved from the hotel with free wi-fi access.
Situated only 6km along the gorge road from the town of Vallon-Pont-d’Arc, the hotel is a popular destination for the French tourists who prefer the tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle. A great opportunity to really experience this magical and welcoming part of France nestled right on the edge of the nature reserve.

Extra Activities
The River Package includes the two-day guided river trip with overnight bivouac as standard but with this option you can also include additional activities with your programme to create a bespoke, multi-activity holiday. Just select your chosen activities when placing a booking.
You have the option to pre-book the following activities:
Caving - (min age 7)
Feel like the people who discovered the Chauvet Cave and explore this subterranean world.
There are a few caves available around the Ardeche gorge and we will book you on one appropriate for your groups ages.

Canyoning - (min age 7)
Follow the course of a river down slides and jumps.
There are a few canyons available suitable for different ages. We will book you on a trip suitable for your group.
Approx 1h 10 mins away
Via-Ferrata - (min age 10 or 1.4m)
This aided climbing system with fixed wire cables, ladders and bridges enable you to reach places otherwise inaccessible for even the most advanced climbers.
You need a head for heights with this one!

Climbing - (min age 7)
This taster session is great for beginners with adult climbing and family climbing options available.
For seasoned climbers we can arrange a private guide to take you to one of the many local crags and push your limits. Contact us if you would like this option.
Approx 5-10 mins away
Each activity is a half-day activity and will last approx. 3 hours. These activities are booked through a local provider who provides all the equipment and the guides. These are the best guides in the region and they all speak good English.
Other activities in the area include horse riding, bike hire, crazy golf and high ropes course (unfortunately we are unable to pre-book these). For further details of all options available, please see here.
